Jorge Rodríguez

Jorge Mario Rodríguez is a specialist in Environmental Services (PES) with more than 25 years of experience in the development and implementation of innovative financing mechanisms, mobilization of resources for PES at the national and international level. He has been delegated by Costa Rica in negotiations of free trade agreements (Environmental Chapter), United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change, Biodiversity. Representative of Costa Rica in the REDD + negotiations and REDD + Focal point in the Cooperative Carbon Fund for Forests (FCPF). He is also representative of Costa Rica in the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO). A member of the Board of Directors of the College of Agricultural Engineers of Costa Rica and of the Administrative Board of the Banco Ambiental Foundation (FUNBAM), Jorge is representative of Fonafifo within the Special Committee of the Sustainable Biodiversity Fund (FBS). Jorge is also a lecturer on Costa Rica's experience in the Environmental Services Program, greenhouse gas emission reduction projects, and credit systems for micro, small and medium-sized companies in the forestry sector. He is author and co-author of different publications on Payment for Environmental Services. Jorge has a degree in Agronomy from the University of Costa Rica, Master in Business Administration from the Latin American University of Science and Technology; He graduated from the Sustainability Management Program of the Central American Institute of Business Administration (INCAE).
