• encourage nature-based tourism
• engage indigenous peoples and local communities

PROGREEN is working to reduce agricultural land conversion through improved management of agriculture lands.

Activities under this Pillar will:

• increase sustainable food production
• restore degraded landscapes for conservation and production
• slow biodiversity loss
• increase habitat for wildlife in agriculture landscapes
• help farmers meet responsible commodity value chain sourcing and quality requirements
• promote climate-smart agriculture techniques, agroforestry approaches, and sustainable pasture management practices

PROGREEN aims to reduce land-use change driven by sectors such as infrastructure, mining, and transport through activities that:

• improve methods and approaches for reducing the impact from other sectors on forests and for restoring areas degraded by those sectors
• develop tools for spatial land use planning and development, including socio-economic cost benefit analysis
• facilitate participatory landscape planning across sectors
• promote the design of green large-scale infrastructure and the establishment of green infrastructure networks
